OW Mark wins Bronze in Paralympic Games!

Last week, students and Staff in Prep welcomed back former OW Mark Tompsett, who is now a Paralympic Bronze Medalist!

Mark paid us a special visit to talk to students about his success and show students pieces of special memorabilia from the Games, such as his swimming hat, tracksuit, swimming trunks, and of course, his Bronze medal.

Students eagerly asked Mark several questions about his experience, and applauded Mark on his achievement. It was great to have Mark back at Westholme and we even managed to have a photograph with him next to his own image in the Westholme Swimming Pool.

Mark won his medal in the 100m Backstroke S14 category, after having won Gold in the same category at the European Championships ealier this year. These results have both been fantastic accomplishments for mark, espeically when you consider he is still only 17 years of age. You can watch Mark winning his medal here – WATCH

Thank you, Mark, and we would like to wish you the very best of luck for your future swimming endeavours.
