Prep Carol Service

Last Friday, it was the turn of our Prep students to take part in their carol service at Blackburn Cathedral. What a splendidly festive occasion it was!

The Cathedral looked magnificent with Christmas trees, wreaths and candles in decoration for the Christmas season. Students performed brilliantly in front of family and friends, having learnt their lines and musical pieces in rehearsals and practice.

The choirs, orchestrated by Mrs Newberry, sang a variety of Christmas songs and carols that perfectly set the tone going into the last week of term. Choirs from Lower and Upper Prep both sang a variety of songs, and all of the readers performed their lines to perfection.

The carols got everyone in the spirit with classics such as ‘Ding Dong Merrily on High’, ‘Silent Night’ and ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’.

Thank you also to everyone that donated towards our chosen charity for the service, which was the NSPCC. We are delighted to say that we £625.90. Over the course of both the Senior and the Prep service, we raised a grand total of £1,838.90 for the NSPCC.

Thanks also to Canon James Lawrence for leading the service, the Cathedral Staff and John Robinson for playing the organ.

On behalf at everyone at Westholme, we’d like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
