Creative Arts & Technology Experience Day!

This Thursday, we held a carnival themed Creative Arts & Technology experience day to remember at the Senior School for external pupils in years 4 and 5.

It was a truly fantastic occasion run by Mr Walker our Director of Creative Arts & Technology, with the support of senior staff members and students in our INSPIRED Sixth Form. Areas of the school were adorned with specially made bunting in celebration of the event, helping to bring the circus to Westholme for the evening! Around 50 prospective students were able to get a flavour of what life at Westholme Senior School is all about, learning new skills, making new friends and making the most of our fantastic facilities. They were able to choose two 45-minute activities to enjoy:

Art & Photography – Circus Themed Prop Design and Photo Shoot

Food and Nutrition – Muffin Baking & Decorating

Textiles – Creating specially themed Circus Bunting.

Each activity was led by a senior member of staff with the aid of our INSPIRED Sixth Formers, leading the way by lending their expertise in each given area. It was great to see our students interacting with the younger children, helping them to have fun whilst learning new skills. Our guests were also treated to a variety of impressive performances in the Croston Theatre by our talented drama students; the addition of popcorn snacks proved very popular!

Tea and refreshments were served in the dining room afterwards, with a mouth-watering selection of cakes provided by our catering partners Thomas Franks. Giving students the opportunity to relax and talk about some of the things that they had just learnt and experienced throughout the evening. Overall, it was a fantastic event and thank you to all of the members of staff and students who were involved in supporting and helping out on the evening. It really was a show to remember!
