Darcie’s National Brass Band Success
Congratulations to INSPIRED Sixth Former Darcie, who was recently awarded Best Soloist in the prestigious National Youth Brass Band Competition. This year, the competition was held at Hymers College in Hull. Darcie travelled to the East Coast to take part in the event, which is one of Britain’s oldest musical institutions.
Darcie did fantastically well and won the award for Best Soloist, playing the Cornet. Her talent, dedication, and passion for music shone brightly in this national competition, and her remarkable achievement is a testament to her hard work.
In the competition, Darcie also played principal cornet with the Lancashire Youth Brass Band and finished 4th with a gold award.
In September, Darcie will begin attending the Royal Northern College of Music to study Music Performance on the cornet, and has received a scholarship to attend.
Well done, Darcie!
