Number Day 2025

On Friday 7th February, Westholme Prep pupils celebrated National Number Day. Organised by the NSPCC, the day is a nationwide mathematics fundraising event for young people of all ages.

It was fantastic to see children enter into the spirit of the day by taking part in the planned activities and games and coming to school in items of clothing that contained a number.

This year, every class in Prep embarked on an adventure around the world. They were tasked by Josh Fogg to help him follow in the footsteps of his great-great-great-great grandfather Phileas and circumnavigate the globe in just 80 days!

Every Prep pupil engaged with a range of different activities and were given opportunities to extend their mathematical thinking by exploring links between mathematics and travel.

To assist Mr Fogg, the children were tasked with calculating the amount of luggage he could take with him, keeping him within his budget, and interpreting boat and train timetables.

Well done to all the pupils for taking part and thank you for the vital funds raised for this extremely worthy cause.
