Othello trip
On Saturday 9 November, years 12 and 13 English Literature students visited Stratford-upon-Avon to see the Royal Shakespeare Company’s adaptation of Othello at the famous Swan Theatre.
The trip was a great success and students enjoyed the high quality of the production and acting that were on show. They were captivated by director Tim Carroll’s depiction of the manipulative Iago and jealous Othello, in the intimate setting of the Theatre, which has a capacity of just 469 people split over three levels.
Afterwards, the students visited the famous Bard’s resting place, at the Holy Trinity Church. They also ate a lovely lunch at The Garrick, which has reportedly been a pub since 1718, making it the oldest pub in Stratford. It was a trip to be envied by all!
