Prep 4 make bird feeders

Earlier this week, students in Prep 4 wrapped up warm for their Outdoor Learning class and took part in preparation activities that help them to recognise birds and how to encourage birds to visit the woodland area in the school grounds.

They made bird feeders using apples, bird seed and pieces of wood and string. They hung them up in the trees in the woodland area, and will check on the progress in over the course of their next few lessons.

These activities are in conjunction with the RSPB’s Big Schools Birdwatch 2025.

You can find out more about this initiative here – FIND OUT MORE.

They also learnt how to identify different types of birds, so that they can differentiate any birds that do visit the woods in the future.

We look forward to finding out the results of their hard work in the weeks to come.
