Prep Artists

Each half term, Mrs Butler has introduced a new artist to the children in Prep. Details about the artist’s life and examples of their work have been shown to the children in assembly.

So far, they have been introduced to the work of the sculptor Andy Goldsworthy, the illustrator Charlie Mackesy and most recently, the painter Wassily Kandinsky.

Each half term, Mrs Butler has set the children a competition to create a piece of art in the style of the artist chosen.

The winners this half term were Hanaa, Rameen and runners up were Poppy and Harriet. They had to design their own Charlie Mackesy saying and illustrations.

Mrs Butler was very impressed by their creativity!
