A day in the life of a Prep Pupil at Westholme

From creative classroom projects to outdoor adventures, every day in Prep is filled with learning, laughter, and discovery. See how our warm, vibrant community helps children grow in confidence and curiosity.

Registration at 8:50 marks the beginning of the school day with an initial touch base with Form tutors and then assembly. This is an opportunity for us to come together as a whole, share key messages and celebrate pupils’ success. On Friday we hold our celebratory assembly.

Our lessons are 35 minutes in length, the morning session is broken by a break at 10:35 for 20 minutes. This is an opportunity for the pupils have a snack and let off some steam on the playground, William’s wood and in the warmer months, our school field before heading back to lessons.

Lunchtime is an hour long and starts at 12.05pm. During this time, pupils walk to our Seniors building and take lunch in our dining room, they have time outside with their friends and there are also a variety of co-curricular activities that take place which are optional.

Second Registration marks the beginning of the afternoon,

The afternoon begins with lessons which run through the afternoon to 15.35 and a final touch base with their tutor.

Children are escorted by form teachers on to playgrounds to meet parents at 15:40. For pupils travelling by coach, children are registered on the playground and escorted on to coaches between 15.50-15.55.

Pupils can stay in our After School Club until 18:00. Many pupils also take full advantage of our vast array of After School Clubs until 16:45.
