Westholme has a long and proud Performing Arts tradition, as Old Westhomians including Amelia Kenworthy, Liz Singleton and Emily Jones can confirm.

World class facilities in our Croston Theatre and studios, combined with a rich and diverse programme of productions, mean that there are ample opportunities to develop their talents in acting, dancing, directing or working behind the scenes in our tech crew.

Productions involve pupils across the full age range, and there is no shortage of ambition to what we stage, whether it be Broadway musicals such as Miss Saigon and Les Misérables, dance showcases or our summer Shakespeare play.

At Westholme School, the Performing Arts are at the heart of our vibrant community. Whether it’s music, drama or dance, we inspire every student to find their voice, express their creativity, and grow in confidence both on and off the stage.

We offer extensive opportunities for students to pursue their passions, including LAMDA tuition and a wide range of instrumental lessons taught by specialist tutors. Many of our students go on to achieve graded qualifications and pursue successful creative careers.

Award Winning Success

We are delighted to share that Westholme have won the national Starlight Express schools competition, securing an exciting opportunity to perform on a London stage.

In celebration of World Theatre Day 2026, 30 students and staff will travel to the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre to watch the Olivier Award-winning production before stepping onto the stage themselves to perform live at the Starlight Auditorium.

Schools nationwide were invited to submit a recorded performance of the iconic title song, with entries judged on musicality, vocal technique, stage presence and expression by a panel including West End cast members and Young Voices representatives. Westholme’s entry stood out among submissions from across the country.

This achievement highlights the continued strength of Performing Arts at Westholme and promises to be an unforgettable experience for the students involved.
