At Westholme, our alumni are a powerful part of our story. Their journeys, achievements and experiences bring learning to life and play a vital role in inspiring current pupils as they prepare for the future. By returning to Westholme to mentor, give talks or lead workshops, Old Westholmians help bridge the gap between education and the world beyond school.
Whether sharing a personal career journey, reflecting on lessons learned since leaving Westholme, or speaking about resilience and ambition, alumni speakers help pupils see what is possible. These sessions often spark curiosity and raise aspirations showing pupils the many different paths success can take.
One-to-one or small-group mentoring allows alumni to make a lasting impact. By sharing guidance on career pathways, university choices or apprenticeships, mentors help pupils make informed decisions. These relationships are often transformative, offering reassurance and real-world insight that only someone who has “been there before” can provide.
Interactive workshops led by alumni give pupils the opportunity to develop practical skills. From leadership and enterprise to STEM and creative industries, alumni-led sessions enrich the curriculum and connect classroom learning with real-world application. These workshops are engaging and highly valued by pupils and staff alike.
Supporting Westholme as an Old Westhomian is a chance to give back to the community that helped shape you. It is also a rewarding opportunity to inspire young people, develop your own presentation or mentoring skills, and stay connected with the School and fellow Old Westholmians.
