Celebrating Excellence at the Westholme Performing Arts Awards 2026

Westholme’s talented performers took centre stage at Ewood Park for the annual Performing Arts Awards, an evening dedicated to celebrating achievements across Drama, Dance and Music. The event brought together students, staff, families and alumni to recognise the remarkable contributions made to the performing arts throughout the year.

The evening showcased the breadth of talent within the school, featuring performances from current students, including Westholme’s national-winning Starlight Express performers, A Level Dance students, vocalists, musicians and actors. Guests were also treated to inspiring performances from Old Westholmians Emily Jones and Grace Moran, whose successful careers in the performing arts provided a powerful reminder of where dedication and creativity can lead.

A wide range of awards were presented throughout the evening, recognising excellence in music, drama, dance, musical theatre and technical theatre, alongside honours for commitment, outstanding contribution and distinguished service. Rising Star awards celebrated emerging talent across every year group, while student-voted awards highlighted the respect and admiration performers have earned from their peers.

One of the most poignant moments of the evening was the presentation of the inaugural Órla Baxendale Award for Inspiring Contribution to Dance. Established in memory of former Westholme student and talented dancer Órla Baxendale, the award honours her enduring legacy and passion for dance.

The Performing Arts Awards provided a fitting celebration of another exceptional year for Westholme’s thriving performing arts community. From major productions and national competitions to concerts, examinations and performances, the evening reflected the dedication, creativity and ambition that continue to define the arts at Westholme.
