Upper Senior Prizegiving

On Thursday evening our Croston Theatre welcomed pupils, staff and families for the Senior Prizegiving ceremony celebrating the successes of Years 10, 12 and 13 and bidding a fond farewell to our Year 13 leavers.

The evening opened with a warm address from Chair of Governors Jonathon Backhouse followed by a moving speech from our Student Executives that recounted their favourite memories from their time at Westholme. Olivia and Darcy shared a beautiful duet of Natasha Bedingfield’s Unwritten which Principal Paul Taylor reflected on in his address, urging pupils to remember that they are the authors of their own story so make it interesting.

Guest of honour Matt Messias, former Premier League and FIFA referee, shared words on leadership and encouraged pupils to stay happy and hungry for knowledge reminding us that “happiness and optimism fuel success”.

Our Inspired Sixth Formers brought the evening to a close with wonderful renditions of New York and Empire State of Mind.
