Eliza Represents Lancashire at the National Swim Championships

Eliza continues to shine in her swimming this season, building on her previous success of being selected for the Swim England Regional Development Programme. This prestigious programme recognises talented athletes and provides opportunities to train at regional camps alongside other top swimmers in her age group. 

We are delighted to share that Eliza has now been selected to represent Lancashire at the Swim England National County Championships in Sheffield at Ponds Forge on Sunday 5 October. This event brought together over 900 swimmers from counties across England as well as Scotland and Wales, making it one of the most competitive competitions of the season. 

Eliza performed exceptionally well, finishing ninth out of twenty in her race and achieving a new personal best. Her performance contributed to Lancashire placing eighth overall and highlighted her as one of the county’s leading swimmers. The whole experience was an exciting opportunity for Eliza to compete in such an elite environment and to gain valuable experience at a national level. 

We are extremely proud of Eliza’s commitment, hard work and determination. Balancing high-level sport with her studies requires focus and dedication, and we are grateful for the support of the school in helping her manage both. Eliza’s achievements reflect not only her talent but also the values we celebrate at Westholme: working hard and being kind. Her success is an inspiration to the whole school community and a reminder of the rewards of dedication and perseverance.
