Year 7 Christmas Party

’Tis the season to be jolly and whilst the Sports Hall may not have been decked with boughs of holly, it was certainly brimming with festive spirit, laughter and plenty of fun for our Year 7 Christmas Party!

The afternoon was filled with excitement as pupils came together to celebrate the end of a fantastic first term at Westholme. From the moment they arrived, the room buzzed with energy and anticipation as the games began. Pupils took part in a wonderful mix of both traditional and modern party favourites, including Pin the Nose on the Snowman, Charades, and a lively challenge to see who could create the longest paper chain. The creative competition sparked lots of teamwork and laughter, with paper flying and scissors snipping as students raced to build the winning chain.

Music played a central part in the festivities, with Christmas classics filling the hall and voices raised in joyful chorus. Pupils sang along enthusiastically to their favourite festive hits, creating a heartwarming atmosphere of unity and celebration. The highlight of the afternoon came when everyone joined in for a spirited performance of The Twelve Days of Christmas, complete with actions, laughter and plenty of good-natured chaos!

As the music continued, the excitement reached new heights with a giant game of Musical Statues. Pupils showed off their best dance moves (and some very impressive freeze poses) as they competed for prizes and festive glory. The hall echoed with laughter as friends cheered each other on and teachers joined in the fun.

The event was a perfect way to bring the Year 7 community together, marking the close of their first term in true Westholme style; with joy, friendship and festive sparkle. As the afternoon drew to a close, pupils left with rosy cheeks, big smiles, and a shared sense of Christmas cheer that perfectly captured the spirit of the season.

It was a celebration to remember and a fitting finale to what has been a wonderful first term for our newest Senior pupils. Year 7 are now ready to enjoy a well-deserved holiday before returning in January refreshed, re-energised, and ready for the exciting year ahead.
