U16 Netball Squad Celebrate Strong Cup Win

Our U16 Sisters in Sport squad travelled to Queen Ethelburga’s on Friday 5 December for their second-round cup fixture and delivered a performance that showcased their resilience, teamwork and growing tactical maturity. Although the team began the match a little slowly, they remained composed under pressure and quickly found their rhythm as play unfolded.

Once settled, the squad demonstrated excellent movement through the court, sharp decision-making and confident shooting, converting turnovers into crucial goals. Their defensive unit worked tirelessly to disrupt opposition play, forcing repeated errors and creating valuable opportunities to extend the lead.

As the momentum shifted firmly in Westholme’s favour, the players showed impressive control in both attack and defence, adapting intelligently to the pace of the game and maintaining consistency across all four quarters. Their confidence grew with each passage of play and the team’s determination was clear to see.

The final score, a superb 43–24 victory, reflected the quality of their performance and the unity of the squad. Coaches praised the group not only for their sporting excellence but for their attitude, communication and discipline throughout the fixture. Every player contributed, demonstrating the strength and depth within the team.

This win marks another positive step in the Sisters in Sport competition and the squad now look forward to preparing for the next round with real momentum. A huge well done to all involved for representing the school with such pride and professionalism.
