Global Success: Kent Returns from World Dance Cup as Champion

Kent returned to school this week after an extraordinary experience in Mexico, where he travelled with the Phoenix Company to compete in the prestigious World Dance Cup Championship. This international event brought together exceptional young dancers from across the globe, providing a platform for performers to showcase their talent, passion and hard work.

Throughout the week, the Phoenix dancers took part in a wide range of categories including solos, duets and group performances. Their commitment and preparation were evident in every routine, and the team achieved phenomenal success on the world stage. Medals were awarded in both the solo and duet sections, celebrating the technical skill and artistry of the dancers. In the group categories, Phoenix secured two gold medals and a silver—an outstanding accomplishment in such a competitive field.

The highlight of the week came when Phoenix were announced as World Champions for the X-pirit World Cup. This remarkable achievement reflected not only their performance quality but also the unity, determination and joy they brought to the competition.

For Kent’s family, the excitement was just as intense at home. Unable to travel to Mexico, his parents live-streamed the event, watching proudly as Kent ran onto the floor waving the UK flag – a moment they described as “like a scene from Gladiators.” The atmosphere through the screen was electric, and they could only imagine the energy felt by those present in person.

The children were overjoyed with the result, celebrating a week they will remember for the rest of their lives. For Kent, representing his country on an international stage and contributing to a world-champion team is an achievement of which he can be immensely proud.
