Soloists’ Recital 

Yesterday evening, pupils, families and staff gathered in the Croston Theatre for a wonderful Soloists’ Recital, celebrating the depth and diversity of musical talent across Westholme.

The programme featured an impressive range of performances, with students taking to the stage on piano, voice, violin, cello, saxophone, clarinet, guitar and drums. A special highlight, and a first for Westholme, was Neve’s performance on the electric cello, adding a contemporary edge and demonstrating the breadth of musical exploration encouraged within the department.

It was particularly special to see the contrast and continuity across year groups. Senior pupils, many of whom have been part of the Westholme music programme for years, delivered assured and polished performances, reflecting the dedication and progress they have made in perfecting their instruments and voices over time. Alongside them, Year 7 and 8 pupils rose to the occasion with confidence and enthusiasm,  for some, it was their very first time performing on the Croston Theatre stage, making their performances all the more impressive.

The recital was a testament not only to individual talent, but also to the supportive and aspirational musical culture at Westholme, where pupils are encouraged to perform, grow and challenge themselves from an early age. Congratulations to all the performers for a memorable evening, and thank you to the music staff for their continued guidance and inspiration.
