Malaysian Takeover Day Brings Global Flavours to Westholme

Westholme was alive with colour, flavour and cultural discovery as we hosted a vibrant Malaysian Takeover Day in partnership with our catering experts at Thomas Franks Ltd. The exciting themed event transformed the dining experience for pupils and staff alike, offering an authentic taste of Malaysia right here.

Leading the culinary showcase was Ben Davis, Development Chef at Thomas Franks, who worked closely with the team to design a menu inspired by traditional Malaysian cuisine. From fragrant spices to beautifully balanced dishes, the menu was carefully crafted to introduce students to new flavours while celebrating Malaysia’s rich food heritage.

Throughout the day, Ben shared insights into the inspiration behind the menu and the importance of exploring global cuisines. His enthusiasm and expertise helped bring the experience to life, giving pupils a deeper appreciation of how food connects cultures around the world.

These themed dining events are a valued part of the Westholme experience. By working in partnership with Thomas Franks, we continue to provide opportunities for pupils to broaden their horizons, try something new and engage with cultures beyond the classroom.
