We are delighted to celebrate our Sixth Form exceptional results, with 79% of entries achieving A*-B grades.
Nearly half of the exam entries—45%—secured A*-A grades.
Art, English Literature, Further Mathematics, Computer Science, EPR, Geography, Politics, Sociology and Drama each recorded a 100% A*-B pass rate.
The outstanding Drama results further underline Westholme’s strength in the performing arts, following the school’s recent shortlisting for the Independent Schools of the Year Award for Performing Arts.
Of the three students that applied to study performing arts, an incredible 11 destinations were vying for their selection. Choices included Theatre Arts, Arts Educational School and London Media Academy. Others considered included Italia Conti, Bird College, Emil Dale Academy, Mountview Academy.
Jonathan Oracz, Head of Sixth Form, said: “I am blown away by such incredible results – but knowing the students, I have seen the journey they have been on and the incredible progress and hard work put in to match their impressive talent.
“These results are a testament to who they are and how far they have come through both the support of their teachers and the wider provision available in our Sixth Form.
94% of students got offered their first or insurance place at university, with many going on to study at Russell Group universities, many ranked in the top of the Times UK list including London School of Economics and Political Science (LSC), St Andrews and the University of Oxford.
Just under half have been offered other coveted Russell Group universities, with some students choosing an apprenticeship route with notable employers such as BAE Systems, Accenture, Bethell, HSBC, UK Research & Innovation – Science Technology Research Council.
Principal Paul Taylor said:
“These results have opened the door to exciting next steps for our students—but they represent so much more than qualifications.
“They reflect two years of hard work, determination and resilience: the moments when students challenged themselves, the times when things did not go to plan and the occasions when they found the confidence to keep going.
“Above all, they reflect an exceptional group of young people who have embraced everything Westholme has to offer.
“Our Sixth Form has undergone significant development over the past two years, and this talented cohort has risen to every challenge. Our academic team has worked closely with each student through carefully planned subject choices, progress tracking, targeted intervention and opportunities for further stretch. Their success is richly deserved.”
Westholme leavers are now heading to leading universities including the University of Oxford, Imperial College London and the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Their chosen courses span Mathematics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Politics and the Performing Arts—reflecting the breadth of talent across the year group.
