Why choose Photography?

The AQA Photography course is a fantastic and innovative subject that gets students thinking outside the box and developing their own ideologies and pushing the boundaries of photography in the traditional sense. Students develop and refine their skills in working with a range of cameras and learning to shoot in manual mode, allowing them complete freedom to manipulate their own photography and develop unique styles. There are an excellent range of facilities within the department which allows us to teach a broad and varied course. 

Students are afforded the experience to explore visual imagery through both modern and traditional methods. The department has a fantastic live studio space with an infinity wall, studio lights, projectors and camera equipment enabling students to explore their ideas fully. The course facilitates the production of an extensive portfolio of work which can be taken to interviews for Higher Education or employment. Work submitted can take many forms but usually includes sketchbooks and a variety of outcomes in response to a theme.
