Key Stage 3 – Music

Today, young people face high academic pressure, and increased anxiety and mental health challenges. 

Music offers a powerful outlet for expression and reflection, opportunities for emotional regulation and self-awareness, and a sense of belonging through shared creative experience. 

Music reinforces Westholme’s commitment to educating the whole person, supporting wellbeing alongside achievement,  and creating a balanced, humane educational experience. 

Music education is associated with enhanced memory and concentration, improved listening and analytical skills, and stronger pattern recognition and problem-solving ability. 

These cognitive skills support learning across languages and mathematics, and Humanities and sciences.
