Key Stage 3 – Spanish

Westholme offers Spanish and German as they offer complementary global, economic and intellectual value. Together they provide accessibility, challenge and real-world relevance for students, preparing them for international engagement, further study and future employment.  

Spanish is spoken by over 500 million people across Europe, Latin America, and the USA. It is a world language, not a regional one, opening cultural, economic and diplomatic access across multiple continents. It aligns well with global citizenship, migration, international development and future mobility. 

Spanish has highly phonetic spelling, regular grammar patterns and immediate listening–speaking payoff. This makes it more inclusive than many languages and supports higher uptake and confidence.
