Key Stage 3 – Wellbeing

At Westholme, our curriculum has always been shaped by a clear sense of purpose: to educate the whole child and to prepare young people not only for academic success, but for a life of meaning, service and responsibility.

Delivering a new Wellbeing Strategy is a key pillar of the Westholme Strategy 2030, reflecting our commitment to educating the whole child and supporting students to thrive both in school and beyond. Wellbeing education aligns closely with our strong pastoral tradition of care, nurture and guidance, ensuring that every pupil feels supported, valued and understood throughout their journey at Westholme.

Through dedicated wellbeing lessons, students will develop a deeper understanding of themselves. They will learn how to build resilience, manage challenges and approach change with confidence. The programme will also support students in developing healthy relationships, encouraging empathy, respect and effective communication.

Lessons will balance reflection with proactivity, and provide students with a practical toolkit of coping strategies to thrive in a challenging world.
