Westholme is delighted to celebrate an exceptional achievement by student Leiyah, who has been selected to ride for England at the prestigious Royal Windsor Horse Show.

Leiyah will compete as part of the Pony Club Mounted Games team, performing in front of the Royal Family and an international audience. Selection for the team followed an extremely competitive trial, where Leiyah rode against 32 of the country’s top riders. After four and a half hours of intense and demanding races, only five riders and a reserve place were awarded – making her selection a truly outstanding accomplishment.

What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that Leiyah has only been riding her pony, April, for nine weeks. Building the partnership and trust required to compete at such a high level in such a short time is a testament to both her dedication and determination.

April is owned and was trained by the Adcock family, who have played a significant role in the Mounted Games community. Many young riders have been deeply affected by the recent passing of Paul Adcock, who was far more than a trainer to them – he was a mentor who encouraged and inspired countless children to believe in themselves.

Despite her own grief, Sue Adcock has continued to support Leiyah and April throughout this journey. Her unwavering commitment to the riders and the sport has been truly remarkable, and it is especially meaningful to see Leiyah carry forward the belief and encouragement that Paul instilled in her.
