Night at the movies 2026

Last week, our year 7 students were treated to a cinematic screening of Happy Gilmore with our annual Night at the Movies to raise money for charity. Year 9 students worked hard over the past few weeks to plan the event including a tea party filled with homemade crepes, chocolate covered strawberries, sweet cones and plenty of popcorn for the movie.  

Night at the Movies is an annual event, hosted by our year 9 charities team to raise money for specific challenges selected by Year 7 and Year 9. Students learn about individual responsibility within society, and the importance of non-for-profit organisations throughout their EPR and PSHE lessons at school. This year, the chosen charities were Pendleside Hospice and Derian House. 

The charities team did an incredible job, highlighting their sense of responsibility and dedication to an important cause.  Throughout the evening, the students raised a total of £640. Mrs Oracz would like to thank Year 9 for their incredible work preparing and running the event.
