Parents and Carers First Aid Awareness Training

On Thursday 6 November, parents and carers joined us at school for our first First Aid Awareness Session, an engaging and practical evening led by our trusted first aid training provider. Designed to build confidence and preparedness, the free session offered participants the chance to learn key emergency techniques through interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities.

Over the course of the two-hour workshop, attendees developed their understanding of essential lifesaving skills, including how to perform CPR on both adults and children, respond to choking incidents, safely use a defibrillator (AED), and place someone in the recovery position. Participants also explored practical responses to other everyday emergencies, gaining reassurance that even small actions can make a big difference in critical moments.

The atmosphere was friendly and collaborative, with participants appreciating the opportunity to learn together in a supportive environment. Although the session was non-certificated, feedback highlighted how empowering it felt to gain practical skills that could save lives.

Following the success of this initial event, we are delighted to confirm that additional sessions will take place throughout the school year. Future First Aid Awareness sessions will be open to parents of children across both Prep and Senior School, ensuring more families can benefit from this valuable training opportunity.
