Rising Stars 2026: An Evening to Remember

The Croston Theatre was filled with energy, excitement and extraordinary talent on 11 February as our Senior students took to the stage for Rising Stars 2026, and what a night it was.

From the very first performance to the powerful finale, the evening was a true celebration of Westholme Performing Arts. Audiences were treated to an impressive and diverse programme featuring musical theatre favourites, contemporary dance, tap, solo vocals, monologues and ensemble number. Highlights included stunning renditions from Wicked, Matilda, Annie, Chicago, Les Misérables, The Greatest Showman, Billy Elliot and Beauty and the Beast, alongside contemporary pieces and original interpretations that showcased the individuality of each performer. From the emotional depth of On My Own to the uplifting energy of A Million Dreams, every performance reflected commitment, rehearsal and remarkable stage presence.

What makes Rising Stars so special is the blend of experienced performers and those bravely stepping into the spotlight for the first time. For some students, this was a confident return to the Croston stage; for others, it marked an important milestone in their performing journey. In every case, the courage, professionalism and passion on display were exceptional. The finale brought the entire company together in a fitting celebration of the dedication and teamwork that underpin Westholme’s Performing Arts provision.

The applause at the close of the evening was a testament not only to the talent of our students, but to their resilience, collaboration and willingness to stretch themselves creatively. A heartfelt thank you goes to our Performing Arts staff – Mrs C Roberts-Lyle, Mrs J Santi, Mr M Bradford, Mrs J Ward-Thompson and Miss R Loudonsack, for their expertise, guidance and tireless support in preparing students for the stage.

Rising Stars was more than a showcase; it was a celebration of confidence, character and creative excellence. We are incredibly proud of every student who performed and grateful to our families for their continued support.

The future of Westholme Performing Arts is certainly shining bright.
