U13 Boys Progress in ESFA Cup with Dominant Win Over Golborne High

Westholme’s U13 boys’ football team continued their strong run in the English Schools’ Football Association (ESFA) Cup with an emphatic 5–1 victory over Golborne High School, Wigan, in Round 2 of the national competition.

The team started brightly, showing excellent teamwork, communication and tactical awareness. Elijah was in exceptional form, scoring a superb hat-trick to give Westholme control of the match. Finn and Jude added a goal each to round off a confident attacking display. The team’s relentless energy and discipline ensured they maintained momentum throughout, defending resolutely while creating opportunities through sharp passing and intelligent movement.

This win is a reflection of the players’ hard work and growing understanding of the game. Every member of the squad made a valuable contribution, demonstrating sportsmanship and a fantastic team spirit. A special thank you goes the Westholme Association (WA) for the scoreboard donation which our 5-1 victory even sweeter!

With this result, the Year 8 boys advance to Round 3 of the ESFA Cup, where they will look to continue their impressive form and build on this excellent performance. Congratulations to the team and coaching staff on a brilliant achievement!
