Prep 3 Travels Back in Time!

Today, our Prep 3 pupils travelled to Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire and stepped straight into the world of the Industrial Revolution. From the moment they arrived, history moved from the pages of their textbooks into vivid reality.

The children watched the mighty water-powered machines in action, driven by the River Bollin, and discovered how cotton was spun more than 200 years ago. Seeing the mill at work helped pupils connect their classroom learning to the real-life innovations that shaped the modern world.

During the visit, pupils also explored the Apprentice House, gaining a powerful insight into the lives of the young workers who once lived and worked at the mill. They learned about Samuel Greg, the mill’s owner, and engaged in thoughtful discussions about childhood, fairness and working conditions in the 18th century.

It was a fascinating and eye-opening trip that truly brought history to life, and a memorable day of discovery for our Prep 3 pupils.
