Last week, we were delighted to welcome parents and carers to Westholme for our second Parent First Aid Awareness Session.
Led by Harry Wilson from HW Training Services, the evening provided attendees with the opportunity to learn and practise a range of essential emergency first aid skills. Parents received practical guidance on CPR, the use of a defibrillator (AED), choking response techniques and the recovery position, alongside discussions about a variety of real-life first aid scenarios.
The session was designed to help parents build confidence and develop the knowledge needed to respond effectively in an emergency. Through hands-on demonstrations and expert advice, attendees gained valuable skills that could one day make a significant difference.
Following the positive feedback from both of our parent sessions, we are looking forward to offering further first aid training opportunities in the future. As part of our commitment to equipping young people with important life skills, we have also begun delivering first aid training to our Sports Scholars, with plans to expand this provision across the wider school community.
A huge thank you to Harry Wilson for delivering another engaging, informative and practical session. We are grateful for his continued support in helping our parents and pupils develop these vital life-saving skills.
