OW Spotlight: Para-Swimming World Record

We were so proud to see former Westholme student and para-swimmer Mark Tompsett break a world record at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships earlier this year.

During the morning heats of the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships in April this year, British para-swimmer Mark Tompsett set a world record in the S14 200m backstroke, clocking an impressive time of 2:08.21.

Mark has previously represented Great Britain at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, taking home a bronze medal for his incredible performance in the men’s 100m breaststroke S14.

It is fantastic to see Mark’s continued sporting success, and we wish him all the best for the future of his record-breaking swimming career. Well done, Mark!
