Alex Represents Westholme at National Shooting Championships

Westholme is delighted to celebrate the success of Alex, who travelled to Ellesmere College on Wednesday 19 November to compete in the British Shooting Schools Pistol & Rifle Championships. Representing the school in the Senior pistol category, she joined talented shooters from across the country and performed with confidence, discipline and exceptional focus.

Alex achieved a strong score of 133 out of 200, a result made even more impressive by the demanding nature of this year’s course. Competitors were required to hit a considerably smaller target and shoot across a greater distance, testing accuracy, steadiness and mental resilience. Alex met the challenge admirably, demonstrating the maturity and competitive spirit she has developed through years of training.

Her introduction to the sport came through Pony Club Tetrathlon, which opened the door to further development with the Yorkshire Pentathlon Club – both respected pathways into Pentathlon GB. Alex has continued to progress rapidly, recently achieving an outstanding 1000/1000 personal best at a Pony Club triathlon in Pocklington, North Yorkshire. This exceptional score highlights her technical ability and her commitment to continuous improvement.

The Championships provided a valuable opportunity for Alex to compete at a national level, gaining experience, confidence and motivation for future events. Her achievements reflect not only her individual determination but also the support she has embraced from the sporting community around her.
