Four Westholme Pupils Achieve Prestigious North West ISFA Selection

Four Year 8 pupils from Westholme School – Kaden, Elijah, Seth and Finn,  have achieved a significant milestone in their sporting journeys after being selected to represent the North West Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) team. This prestigious recognition highlights both their individual talent and the strong footballing environment within the school.

ISFA, which operates under the umbrella of The Football Association, plays a crucial role in supporting and developing football across independent schools. Its ethos focuses not only on competition, but also on character-building, teamwork, respect and personal growth through sport. By offering representative squads, training opportunities and structured competitions, ISFA enables young players to challenge themselves in new environments and gain insight into advanced levels of the game.

For the boys, selection to the North West team opens the door to high-quality coaching, regional fixtures and experiences that will help refine their technical skills and deepen their understanding of competitive football. They will also have the chance to meet and play alongside talented peers from across the region, forming new connections and learning from different styles of play.

The pupils expressed their excitement about the opportunity. Kaden said he feels “excited and nervous for the tournaments ahead,” acknowledging the scale of the challenge. Seth shared that he is “honoured to be given the opportunity to represent Westholme in ISFA,” while Finn said he is “proud to be selected for the North West ISFA and excited to progress in my football career.” Elijah added that he feels “ready for the challenge,” reflecting the positive mindset the boys are taking into the experience.

Their achievement is a reflection of their commitment to training, their willingness to improve and the support they receive from staff and coaches at Westholme. It also reinforces the school’s commitment to nurturing sporting excellence while encouraging pupils to pursue their ambitions alongside their academic studies.

We are incredibly proud of all four boys and look forward to following their progress as part of the North West ISFA team. Their success stands as an inspiration to younger pupils and a reminder of what dedication and teamwork can help young athletes achieve.
