Music Students Enjoy Inspiring Visit to the Bridgewater Hall

Westholme music students enjoyed a memorable evening of live classical music this week with a visit to Manchester’s iconic Bridgewater Hall, experiencing a world-class orchestral performance in a truly spectacular setting.

The concert featured an exciting programme, including Grieg’s iconic Piano Concerto, performed by the young and highly acclaimed soloist Julius Asal. Students were captivated by both the technical brilliance and emotional depth of the performance, gaining valuable insight into the level of artistry required to perform on an international stage.

Watching a professional orchestra perform live provided an inspiring opportunity for pupils to see how individual musicians come together to create a powerful and expressive sound, reinforcing many of the musical skills and concepts they develop in their own lessons and ensembles at school.

Following an outstanding performance of the Grieg concerto, Julius Asal delighted the audience with an encore of Prokofiev’s dramatic Dance of the Knights from Romeo and Juliet, a piece now widely recognised as the theme music from The Apprentice.
