Old Westholmian Sarah Turner Appointed to Royal Mint Advisory Committee

We are delighted to share the fantastic news that Old Westholmian Sarah Turner, Director of the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, has been appointed as a member of the Royal Mint Advisory Committee (RMAC), a prestigious national body that plays a key role in the design and development of future UK coins.

The appointment was announced by HM Treasury, with members of the Committee formally appointed by His Majesty the King, following recommendations from the Prime Minister and the Economic Secretary to the Treasury. The process is regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments, ensuring that members are selected for their exceptional expertise and contribution to their fields.

Sarah is a highly respected art historian and curator, and in her role as Director of the Paul Mellon Centre, she leads one of the UK’s most significant institutions dedicated to the study and promotion of British art. Her career spans academic research, curatorial practice and leadership within the cultural sector, making her a hugely influential voice in shaping how British art and heritage are understood and celebrated.
