Sixth Form Spotlight! Year 13, Harry

Congratulations to sports-obsessed Year 13 INSPIRED Sixth Form student, Harry, on receiving an excellent set of university offers.

Harry has his sights firmly set on studying Sports Science, with a particular ambition to specialise in biomechanics — the scientific study of the structure, function and movement of the human body, using mechanical principles to analyse the forces acting on and produced by the body.

Reflecting on his time at Westholme, Harry said:

“I want to study Sports Science at university so that I can go into the field of biomechanics. I have gained so much from the Westholme experience. I have also had the chance to work alongside UEFA-qualified coach Charlie Jackson whilst studying, which has helped to widen my knowledge of sport principles and how to nurture young talent.”

Alongside his academic studies, Harry has developed a strong passion for coaching and performance development. He has had the opportunity to work closely with Charlie Jackson, a UEFA-qualified football coach who has supported the development of elite players including Scott McTominay, Adam Wharton and Antonee Robinson.

Combined with the guidance and expertise of his teachers at Westholme, these real-world experiences have helped Harry build a deep understanding of sport, performance analysis and athlete development, perfectly aligning with his future aspirations.
