A huge congratulations to Old Westholmian Julia Gartold

A huge congratulations to Old Westholmian (and current member of our alumni team!) Julia on her recent PhD offer at the University of British Columbia.  

Julia is currently completing her Master’s at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on comparative genomics and evolution, utilising a mixture of bioinformatics and lab work to study bacterial host-adaptation.  

This September, Julia will begin her PhD in Vancouver, where she will investigate the contemporary evolution and ecology of host–pathogen interactions. It is an exciting next step in an impressive academic journey, and we are incredibly proud to see her continuing to thrive both as an Old Westholmian and as part of our wider Westholme family.
