Staff Take Part in One Voice Ramadan Initiative

Staff at Westholme recently took part in the One Voice initiative, “I’m not a Muslim but will fast for one day,” to show solidarity with members of the Muslim community during the holy month of Ramadan.

By choosing to fast for the day, staff experienced a small glimpse of the discipline and patience that fasting involves during Ramadan. The initiative was a meaningful opportunity to deepen understanding of different faiths and traditions while demonstrating support and respect for members of the Muslim community.

The experience prompted thoughtful conversations among both staff and students, encouraging reflection on the importance of empathy, cultural awareness and mutual respect. It also provided an opportunity for learning about the significance of Ramadan and the values of compassion, generosity and self-reflection that it represents.
