Westholme Girls’ Summertime Hockey Success

Westholme hockey was proudly represented this summer, as five girls embraced the opportunity to represent both the region and Lancashire County at three national hockey tournaments. 

Embracing the opportunity to play at the National Hockey Centre in Nottingham, Tensworth Academy player Tilly was the first out, representing the North West at the U13 Regional Tournament. This was followed a few days later by Deputy Head Girl Harriet, battling a heatwave to goal-keep for Lancashire in the U17 National County Championship. The final three to compete, this time in the U15 National County Championship, were Sophie, Eleanor and Tillie. 

All five girls had worked their way through rigorous trials and selections to earn this representative honour, ultimately demonstrating the resilience and sporting commitment which underpins Westholme sport.  Competing against some of the nationally recognised, best hockey players in their respective age group, all five players displayed individual talent and sportsmanship to be proud of.
