Bonjour from the Prep 2 Café!

Prep 2 brought their French lessons to life as they transformed the classroom into the wonderfully popular Prep 2 Café. Using their growing French speaking skills, pupils confidently ordered un croissant, un jus d’orange and du chocolat chaud from Madame Hodgson, practising key conversational phrases in an authentic and engaging setting.

The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the experience, asking for their chosen items in French before sitting down to enjoy their delicious treats. The café atmosphere was made even more special with beautifully decorated tables featuring candles, Tricolore tablecloths and French-themed napkins, helping pupils feel fully immersed in the culture.

The activity provided a fantastic opportunity for pupils to develop their confidence in spoken French in a fun, practical and interactive way. By combining language learning with role play and cultural exploration, the session helped pupils build communication skills while gaining a greater appreciation of French traditions and cuisine.

It was wonderful to see every child enthusiastically embracing the challenge and using their French so confidently throughout the morning.
