Prep Pupils Shine in the Nativity

Prep pupils lit up the Croston Theatre on Thursday with their joyful performance of I’m Gonna Shine, a heartwarming retelling of the Nativity filled with music, personality and festive sparkle. This year’s production followed Gloria, the brightest star in heaven, as she took centre stage on her important journey to Bethlehem, guiding the Three Wise Men with confidence and determination.

Alongside Gloria’s shining tale, audiences followed Mary and Joseph on their long journey, meeting shepherds, angels and a particularly grumpy King Herod along the way. Each character brought charm and humour to the stage, making the story engaging for children and adults alike. The cast delivered their lines beautifully, sang with enthusiasm and performed their dances with wonderful energy, filling the theatre with Christmas cheer.

One of the standout features of the performance was the pupils’ teamwork and confidence. From the smallest angels to the narrators, every child played an important part in bringing the story to life. Their expressive acting and clear storytelling ensured the audience were captivated from beginning to end.

The lively musical numbers added warmth and fun to the production, and the pupils’ commitment during rehearsals was evident throughout. The creative staging, colourful costumes and polished delivery reflected the dedication of staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to support the children.

The audience were full of praise as the performance came to a close, celebrating the pupils’ talent, hard work and festive spirit. I’m Gonna Shine was a truly delightful start to the Christmas season and a joyful reminder of the magic of the Nativity story.
